Umbro Football

Umbro Football Kits for Clubs and Teams

We stock Umbro football kits for grassroots, youth, women's, and semi-pro sides across the UK, and we brand them in-house at our unit in Canvey Island, Essex. You will find match shirts, shorts, socks, and goalkeeper kits here, all available in club colours with your crest, squad numbers, and sponsor applied before it reaches you. If you want to see everything Umbro does beyond match kit, including training wear and benchwear, browse the wider Umbro teamwear range.

We have been supplying kits to local clubs since 2001 under the name SX Sports Teamwear. We are family-run and an authorised Umbro stockist. That means you get genuine Umbro teamwear, ordered through people who understand what a kit officer is actually dealing with in July.

What an Umbro Football Kit Includes

An Umbro football kit consists of a match shirt, matching shorts and socks, with goalkeeper shirts, shorts and gloves sold separately. That is the standard outfield strip, and it is what most clubs mean when they ask us to quote for a full kit.

You can order the 3 pieces together as a complete strip, or buy shirts, shorts, and socks individually if you only need to top up what you already have. Plenty of clubs come to us for 6 replacement shirts in the same colourway as last season rather than a full re-kit, and that is a perfectly sensible way to manage a kit budget.

Most sides run a home-and-away strip, so they have a change if there is a colour clash on matchday. If you are ordering both, it is worth doing it in one go so the printing matches across the 2 sets. A lot of our club orders also include training tops, tracksuits, and benchwear, which is what makes a squad look consistent on the ground rather than just for 90 minutes.

Umbro Football Shirts, Shorts and Socks

Umbro's teamwear match shirts come in short- and long-sleeve, in lightweight, breathable fabric that keeps players comfortable through a full game, and in a range of styles, including plain, striped, and hooped colourways. If your club has played in claret and blue hoops for 50 years, you want a shirt that looks like your shirt, not a compromise. Have a look through our Umbro football shirts to see the colourways currently available.

Shorts and socks are ordered to match the shirt, and Umbro teamwear is designed so the colours line up properly across the 3 pieces. One thing worth checking before you order: many county and league rules require socks that clearly contrast with the opposition, and some leagues insist on a matching set across the whole squad, including substitutes. If your league has a specific requirement, tell us, and we will make sure the sock colour you pick keeps you on the right side of it.

Sizing runs from junior through to adult, and a single squad order can include both. That is normal for us. A grassroots club buying for an under-9s side and an adult reserve team in the same strip does not need to place 2 separate orders, and nobody has to guess sizes for a growing 14-year-old. If you are unsure, ask us for a sizing guide or a sample before you commit to the squad.

Umbro has been making British football kits since 1924 and still supplies professional clubs today, which is part of why the brand carries weight with players and parents. The teamwear range is built for regular use across a season, not for the replica shelf.

Umbro Goalkeeper Kits

The goalkeeper kit is bought separately from the outfield strip and must be a clearly different colour from the outfield players of both teams and the match officials. That comes from Law 4 of the Laws of the Game, and grassroots referees do check it.

Our Umbro goalkeeper kits cover goalkeeper shirts, with padded elbows on selected styles, plus GK shorts and matching socks. Keeper shirts take exactly the same branding work as the outfield kit, so your crest, sponsor, and squad number go on in the same finish, and the keeper does not end up looking like they wandered in from another club.

A practical tip from 25 years of kit nights: order a spare keeper shirt in your most common adult size. Goalkeepers get swapped around more than any other position at the grassroots level, especially in youth football, where the whole squad takes a turn between the sticks, and a spare shirt saves you a phone call at 9 am on a Sunday.

More About Umbro Football Kits for Clubs and Teams

Custom Club Colours, Crests and Numbers on Umbro Football Kits

Yes, we can add your crest, squad numbers, player names or initials, and a sponsor logo to the Umbro kit, and we do it all in-house on Canvey Island rather than sending it out to a third party. That is the part clubs ring us about most, so here is how it works.

We use DTF (Direct to Film) printing for crests, numbers, names, and sponsor work, which gives a sharp, flexible finish that holds up through a season of washing. For badges on polos, jackets, and coachwear, embroidery usually looks better and lasts longer, and we do that on-site, too. You can read more about both processes on our in-house printing and embroidery page.

To get started, we need a usable version of your club crest, ideally a vector file or a high-resolution image with a transparent background, plus your sponsor artwork if you have a shirt sponsor. We will match print colours to your club palette as closely as the process allows and send artwork back for you to approve before anything goes on a garment. It is also worth having your squad number list and any player initials finalised before you sign off, because changes after printing start mean new garments.

Regarding timing, personalised Umbro orders typically take around 2 to 3 weeks from artwork approval, depending on stock levels and how busy the pre-season period is. We will always give you a realistic estimate for your specific order rather than a blanket promise. If you have a fixture date to hit, tell us early, and we will be straight with you about whether it is achievable. Because the printing happens under our own roof, we keep your artwork on file, which is what makes a matching reorder in February possible.

Order for the Whole Squad Through a Club Shop

A managed club shop is your own branded online store where players, parents, and staff order their own kit in their own sizes and pay at checkout. It removes the 3 jobs that make kit admin miserable: collecting sizes on a WhatsApp group, chasing payments, and storing boxes of spare stock in someone's garage.

We build the shop around your approved kit selection, so everything in it is the right strip, the right colourway, and the right branding. That consistency is the real benefit over the course of a season. When 2 new players sign in November, they order from the same shop, and their shirts match the ones printed in July because the artwork and specifications are already saved in our system.

Schools and colleges use the same setup, with invoicing where the finance office needs it and repeat ordering over a term for PE kits and staff wear. Invoices are issued by Kitted Out Teamwear Limited, the company behind SX Sports, which is the detail most school finance teams ask for first. If you would like to set up a managed club shop, we will talk you through the options and get it live before your season starts.

We have been doing this since 2001, and we are still family-run, so you deal with the same people each season rather than a new account handler and a ticket number. That continuity is why clubs come back to us season after season.

Umbro Football Kits FAQs

Do Umbro still make football kits for clubs?

Yes. Umbro produces a current teamwear range for clubs alongside their professional club kits, and it is available to order now. The teamwear collection covers match shirts, shorts, socks, goalkeeper kits, training wear, and benchwear in a range of colourways designed for club use. As an authorised Umbro stockist, we supply that range to grassroots, youth, women's, and semi-pro sides across the UK, branded in your own colours and crest.

How long does a personalised Umbro squad order take?

Personalised orders typically take around 2 to 3 weeks from the point you approve the artwork, depending on garment stock and seasonal demand. Pre-season, from May through to August, is our busiest window, so leave more time if you have a specific fixture in mind. We will give you a realistic estimate for your order and keep you updated, but we never guarantee a delivery date for custom work.

Is there a minimum order for an Umbro squad kit?

We work with clubs of all sizes, and we are flexible on quantity, so you do not need to order a full 20-shirt squad set to get branded kit. Smaller orders are usually fine, whether that is 11 shirts for a single side or 3 replacements mid-season. Send us your numbers, and we will confirm what is possible for the garments you want, including the printing.

Can we mix junior and adult sizes in one kit order?

Yes. Umbro teamwear is sized from junior through to adult in the same styles, so an under-11s side and an adult team can wear the same strip and order together. We handle mixed-size squad orders regularly, and a managed club shop makes it even simpler, as each player selects their own size at checkout. Ask us for a sizing guide if you want to check junior measurements before ordering.

Can we reorder the matching kit mid-season for new signings?

Yes, and this is one of the main reasons clubs order through us. We keep your approved artwork, colours, and specifications on file, so a shirt printed in January matches the ones printed in July. Availability depends on Umbro stock for that colourway and season, so if you know you will need spares, order a couple of extras with your original squad order to be safe.

Can parents order and pay for the kit directly?

Yes. Through a managed club shop, parents and players order their own items in their own sizes and pay at the checkout, so no cash comes through the club, and nobody has to chase anyone. Orders come straight to us; we print them and send them out. For the person running the club, that turns weeks of kit admin into a link you share once.

Do you offer discounts on bulk squad orders?

We price club and school orders competitively, and there are savings on larger squad orders, with up to 30% off RRP advertised across parts of our range. Custom and squad pricing is quotation-based because it depends on quantities, garments, and the amount of printing or embroidery involved. Send us your squad numbers and what you need branded, and we will put a clear price together for you.

Can a printed or embroidered kit be returned or exchanged?

Personalised items are generally non-returnable unless they are faulty or incorrect. Made-to-order and personalised goods are excluded from the standard cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which is why we send artwork and specifications for approval before printing. If something arrives faulty or not as ordered, contact us, and we will put it right. Non-customised stock items are subject to our standard returns policy.
